WELCOME
Hello, I'm Morven (she/her),
Thank you for visiting my website. If you're struggling, you're not alone. No matter how you’re feeling, you’re never too young, too old or too late to ask for help.
I can support you in a warm, inclusive space as you navigate life's challenges. Together, we will explore what you are going through and gently find a way forward towards healing, self-acceptance, emotional resilience and peace of mind. I will be with you on your journey of meaningful change, going at a pace that feels right for you.

MY APPROACH
I have experience working within the NHS and the charitable sectors as well as my private online and in person practice. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, shaped around your unique needs. Drawing on a range of therapeutic models, I will support you in a creative way that honours your story, your pace, and your goals
I provide space for you to explore difficult emotions, recurring patterns or life experiences that may feel too heavy or complex to share elsewhere. Whether you're navigating a challenging period or seeking deeper self-understanding, I aim to create a nurturing environment where you can explore new ways of being, develop emotional resilience and cultivate greater compassion and understanding for yourself.
I work from an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming perspective and offer a safe and supportive space for all clients.
You don’t have to do it alone. Reach out to begin your journey towards healing and connection

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM COUNSELLING
Whether you’re brand new to therapy or dipping your toes back in, finding the right counsellor can feel a bit overwhelming, so many choices and wondering if we’ll get along. To make things easier, I offer a free 15 minute call. It’s a chance for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see if we’re a good fit, without any pressure to commit. Taking that first step can feel daunting, but it’s also a wonderfully brave choice to put yourself first
I offer:
-
Long-term therapy (20 weeks and beyond)
-
Short-term therapy (6 to 20 weeks)
Sessions are 50 minutes long, held weekly, and available either:
-
Online
-
In person
Our first session will feel a little different. It’s your chance to get a sense of whether I’m the right fit for you, and mine to learn more about what’s brought you here. Think of it as a gentle starting point rather than diving straight in at the deep end. We’ll take time to look at where you are now, what you’d like to work on, and how I can best support you.
Ongoing counselling sessions then become your space, a calm corner away from the business of everyday life. We’ll spend the time exploring whatever feels most important to you, whether that’s untangling tricky thoughts, finding new ways to cope, or simply having someone listen without judgement. There’s no script and no rush, just steady steps at your pace, with empathy and compassion along the way

AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Menopause
Menopause and its symptoms can feel overwhelming and isolating, especially when combined with the magnifying effects of neurodiversity and an increased risk of PMDD. In our sessions, you will have space to talk openly about the changes and challenges you are experiencing, without judgement or pressure to minimise them. Together, we can explore what supports you best, develop strategies that suit your needs, and work towards a greater sense of balance and steadiness in daily life, with compassion and understanding at the heart of the process. Rediscover yourself, your creativity, your passion and ability to thrive..

Family Issues
Family relationships can be a source of love and support, but they can also be complicated and painful. Whether you are struggling with long-standing patterns, facing conflict, or simply feeling unheard within your family, it can take a toll on your wellbeing. In our sessions, you will have space to share your experiences openly and safely.
You may be struggling with parenting, which can bring incredible joy while also stirring up worry, conflict and exhaustion. Whether your children are small, teenagers, or adults. you might feel pulled in different directions, struggle with expectations or the sense of being “good enough,” . Perhaps parenting your own children has triggered grief about how you were parented. In our sessions, you will have space to share your experiences openly and safely. Together we can explore what is happening, how it affects you, and find ways to strengthen your boundaries, rebuild connections, or create the peace you need moving forward.
Shame
Shame can be debilitating, making us feel stuck, unworthy, and out of control. It often fuels a critical inner voice, contributes to low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression, and can distort our sense of self-worth. It may also give rise to imposter feelings, further undermining confidence and self-belief. Shame, by its nature is also the place we find hardest to look, it tells us we're 'bad'. I can support you through this process to bring self-compassion, acceptance and peace.
As Brené Brown writes in Daring Greatly:
"If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive."

Neurodiversity
Receiving a diagnosis for your child can be a positive experience, bringing clarity and a deeper understanding for your family. However, it can also feel lonely when those around you struggle to understand. It may place strain on relationships, as you carry the burden of helping others learn while still finding your own way in supporting your child.
If you have recently received your own neurodiversity diagnosis, or are beginning that journey of self-discovery, you may experience a mix of emotions. There can be relief in gaining understanding and developing self-compassion, yet possibly also confusion or grief for the care and understanding you did not receive as a child.
Together we can explore these emotions and what neurodiversity means for you, and how it impacts your daily life. Our work can focus on building self-awareness and self-compassion, developing healthy boundaries, and creating space for understanding and acceptance without judgement, where your unique experiences are heard and believed.
Fertility
Experiencing infertility can be deeply lonely and often feels little understood by those around us, even when they have the best of intentions. The process itself can be intrusive and difficult, and navigating the possible loss of a longed-for future can be devastating. It can also place strain on relationships, especially when each person processes grief and loss differently. I offer a place of understanding where you can explore the pain of the present and gently consider what the future might hold.
